PS3 Firmware Update 4.45 – Sony Have Solved The Issue & Will Re-Release The Patch

4.45-update

Sony Computer Entertainment have issued an official statement that they have identified the problem with the recent firmware update 4.45.

As some of you may remember, they pulled this update from the Playstation Network as it many users actually reported it causing them not being able to access the XMB, and in some cases, even bricking the console.

Now, it seems they have fixed the issue. SCE has told CVG that a fixed version of the 4.45 patch will be released on the June 27. An official Sony spokesperson had this to say:

“We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week.

“A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologise for the inconvenience.”
