Assassin’s Creed Hexe Release AT LEAST 1 Year Away?

It’s a busy time for Assassin’s Creed fans, as even though AC: Black Flag Resynched just came out, we’re already talking about the next iteration in the franchise – Assassin’s Creed: Hexe.

In case you missed it, ex-franchise director Marc-Alexis Cote took the time to discuss AC: Hexe, describing it as a “new flagship title”. Then, later, head of content Jean Guedson stated in an official blog post that Hexe is “unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience, set during a pivotal moment in history.”

Although we don’t know for sure the setting of the game, a rumour shared by Bloomberg states that it will be set during the witch trials in 16th century Rome.

There is a newer leak suggesting that it will be set in Wurzberg, Germany (which would track as “hexe” means witch in German) – but that’s not what we’re here to discuss. Known leaker NateTheHate, who has a decent track record of accuracy, has said that we can’t expect Assassin’s Creed: Hexe anytime soon.

If this leak is true, then it’s going to be quite the wait for this very interesting addition to the franchise. If we’re doing the witch trials, and if the darker tone set by the trailer holds true, we could be for a very different AC game indeed. Part of me hopes that magic will be a real, tangible thing in the game which could offer some interesting opportunities for unique combat abilities and story.
