Ryzen Krackan Point May Come To AM5

For all you AMD heads out there, you’re probably aware of AMD’s Krackan Point APUs for the mid range mobile segment, and it seems that these APUs may indeed be coming over to the desktop.

For the rest of you that are unfamiliar, Krackan Point is better known as the Ryzen AI 300 series which came out in Q1 2025, and it offered some very competitive specifications for it’s targeted market. And now it seems that this very strong APU may indeed be coming to desktop, as spotted by HXL on Twitter.

What we can see in HXL’s screenshot above is a spreadsheet of all the latest AGESA BIOS updates which is maintained by Reous Innox. Focus your attentions on the most recent entry, which reads “ComboAM5PI 1.2.7.0”. Allegedly, this will support a new CPU family with the microcode “00B60Fxx” which – you guessed it – belongs to the Krackan Point series of APUs. While this is far from official, it does point to the Krackan Point APUs making their way to the desktop at some point.

I will definitely be interested to see this officially unveiled by AMD, and what kind of price point we can expect for it.
