Some interesting rumours have surfaced today, thanks to the leaker leaks_infinite. According to their recent statements on Twitter, we can expect a remake of both Halo 2 and Halo 3 at some point soon.
For those of you not in the know, leaks_infinite does have a pretty good track record when it comes to the accuracy of their leaks. For example, they have been accurate in the past when they leaked the Halo: Campaign Evolved remake as well as leaking a few details like it having a sprint mechanic and it’s availability on the PS5.
Halo 2 & Halo 3 are being remade, yes they will have sprint. No multiplayer, only campaign. Full remakes.

As you can see in the tweet above, Leaks_infinite went on to say that both the Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes will feature a sprint mechanic just as Campaign Evolved did, and also said that the “same source that told me about the [Campaign Evolved] remake & its mechanics.”
Unfortunately there is no ETA on when we expect this to be officially announced, let alone when we can expect it to release. But allegedly Halo Studios might be using the Campaign Evolved remake to measure interest and see if a Halo 2 & 3 remake would be viable.
For those of you wondering, leaks_infinite did confirm that according to their source, there will be no multiplayer present in either of these remakes as Halo Studios want Halo 7 to be the focus when it comes to multiplayer. Makes sense that you don’t want a remake of two older games to compete with your latest big budget blockbuster.
Unfortunately that’s about all they had to say on Halo 7, other that confirming it will have a campaign and that Halo 7 will most likely not be what the final game is called.
But for a lot of Halo fans who had very fond memories of the multiplayer of Halo 2 and Halo 3, it could potentially be a huge missed opportunity to not include it in the remakes, as much as I understand wanting Halo 7 to be the focus. It could potentially have a knock on effect on the sales of the remakes, but as with any leak this is far from official so let’s not panic just yet.
