Elden Ring Nightreign DLC Incoming

Elden Ring Nightreign has been a runaway success for the legendary From Software, with over 5 million units sold as of July 2025 according to Statista. Of course, it has a ways to go to catch up the main game of Elden Ring, which has reached over 30 million units sold worldwide – but over 5 million copies sold in just a few months is damn impressive.

And Nightreign’s success is going to be rewarded, as according to a report from GamesRadar, From Software’s parent company Kadokawa said “FromSoftware’s ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN has performed well beyond initial expectations” in their latest earnings disclosure.

They also went on to to confirm that Elden Ring Nightreign will be getting a DLC, stating “We are aiming for further sales growth for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, original ELDEN RING, and its DLC.

FromSoftware is currently developing ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN DLC (planned for release in FY2025), ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition (planned for release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2), and The Duskbloods (planned for release in 2026).”

Now, the most interesting part of that statement for me is the FY2025 release window for the DLC. From what I can tell, Kadokawa’s financial year for 2025 ends in March 2026. So this leaves a relatively short window for Nightreign’s DLC to be announced and then released.

With this in mind I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a surprise reveal of the DLC at the upcoming Game Awards, which Geoff Keighley confirmed for December 11 2025. Considering the history From Software/Bandai Namco have with the Game Awards after revealing Elden Ring’s first real gameplay trailer there, I expect there’s a more than reasonable chance of the Nightreign DLC reveal happening there.

A surprise shadow drop seems less likely, but I will admit it’s certainly possible.
